Teton Valley, ID

I grew up in both in Teton Valley, ID and outside of Butte, MT. My childhood home in Montana was a two-room cabin for a family of four with no running water or electricity. I moved back to the Tetons in 2008. Today, as my daughter grows alongside ever budding subdivisions, I am grateful for the open spaces, simplicities, and analogue hardships of my childhood.

This work relies on historic photos from the Teton Valley Museum and BYU-I. When I found out these photos had been archived, I felt compelled to capture this visual of history to help recreate memories of early western life in the valley.
